What to Expect

When you apply as a student to the Backroom Academy

After submitting your application to join the Academy, please allow a few days for your details to be evaluated and a counsellor to be assigned to you. You will receive an email via the address you provided as soon as the process is complete, so be sure to check back regularly.

Each accountability plan is tailored to the student it is intended for, and your counsellor will walk you through each step once your application is approved. Please refer to the generic plan below for an idea of what to expect.

Generic Accountability Plan

Upon making contact with the student via the email address provided in the application, the counsellor will spend some time discussing specifics, to better understand what is to be accomplished, and how. During this phase, goals will be specified, a plan of action drafted, and limits established. A spreadsheet will be created to act as the student's accountability profile, and allow the counsellor to efficiently monitor progress.

Once the accountability profile is completed, a regular meeting date will be established based on the availability of both the counsellor and the student, to facilitate communication, and the administration of discipline as necessary. These meetings may be conducted in person or online, as dictated by the situation. If in person meetings are chosen, a preliminary meeting in a public space will be required, to allow both parties to become acquainted with each other.

The student will then proceed with normal life, recording their performance on the issues discussed in their accountability profile, to be monitored and referred to during scheduled appointments. Integrity in this is absolutely required for an effective accountability plan.

On the day of the student's first scheduled accountability appointment- after the preliminary safety meeting has been completed- they will meet the counsellor at the pre-determined meeting location to proceed with the regular evaluation. The student will be expected to arrive no later than the agreed upon time. If circumstances dictate that the student must be late, they will be expected to inform the counsellor as soon as possible, and to have a sufficient reason for their tardiness. Unjustified tardiness- as determined by the counsellor- will be added to the accountability profile, and appropriately corrected.

Upon arrival at the meeting location, the student and counsellor will proceed with the evaluation; discussing the student's performance throughout the week, and comparing it with the pre-determined goals established in the initial accountability profile. The counsellor will then administer correction to the student, as deemed necessary.

During the correction, the both parties will be expected to display the utmost professionality, as follows. There will be no behavior of a sexual nature tolerated.

The Counsellor

-There will be no nudity on the part of the counsellor.
-The counsellor will speak to the student in a respectful and professional manner.
-The counsellor will only make physical contact with the student as necessary to administer discipline. Inappropriate contact will not be tolerated.
-The counsellor will remain sensitive to the student's dignity throughout the correction. Discipline is, by nature, unpleasant and often embarrassing; however, the counsellor will not subject the student to unreasonable humiliation. The student may be embarrassed, but never demeaned.
-The counsellor will never record the student in any way.

The Student

-The student will be required to undress- within their predetermined limits- as instructed by the counsellor. A safe storage location will be provided for clothing and personal belongings.
-Involuntary physical reactions to nudity are understood to be outside of the student's control, and will be overlooked by the counsellor. The student will be expected to behave likewise; inappropriate sexual behavior will not be tolerated.
-The counsellor will not behave in a demeaning way. However, the student should expect to experience a level of embarrassment as a normal part of the correction.
-The student will be expected not to record the counsellor in any way.
-The student will have a safe word, which they may use to halt the administration of discipline at any time. The student should understand that use of this safety measure will not be limited by the counsellor, and as such; it is the student's responsibility not to abuse it. The use of a safeword as a get out of jail free card will only cheat the student out of their own progress.

Upon completion of the correction, the student will be given privacy to dress themselves, retrieve their personal belongings, and recover. When the student feels comfortable once again, the next meeting will be confirmed, and the cycle will repeat.

The Student should Understand

By applying as a student to the Backroom Academy, I understand that I will be held accountable for my actions, and monitored on my progress via the data I enter in my accountability profile. I agree to be honest and open in the disclosure of my behavior, and understand that I will be subjected to appropriate correction as deemed necessary by my assigned counsellor.

As a student, I understand that- unless specifically stated as a personal limit- I may be required to:
-Remove some or all of my clothing, as instructed by my counsellor.
-Assume and hold positions that may be embarrassing and/or- in a state of undress- physically revealing.
-Submit to physical contact between myself and my counsellor, as necessary for the administration of discipline.
-Receive uncomfortable and/or unpleasant physical discipline, including but not limited to:
-Being struck on the buttocks, thighs, palms, and other safe areas of my body by hand, and/or with various implements. (Spanking)
-Having the interior of my mouth scrubbed with a mild soap or similarly unpleasant- but safe- substance, and being required to hold that substance in my mouth for a length of time. (Mouth soaping)
-Being required to remain in a specific- often embarrassing- physical position, possibly in a state of undress. (Corner time/time out)

I also understand that I have a pre-determined safeword, which I may use at any time to immediately halt and/or adjust correction should I feel the need.
